How to Play Master Craft
Movement is standard first-person: WASD to walk, mouse to turn your view. The small dot in the centre of the screen is your aiming point — line it up on a block and a left click activates or destroys it, which is how you carve into hillsides, clear trees and open up the ground. Building works from the same blocks that make up the landscape, so the terrain itself is your material.
The world in the frames is generated from cubes: rolling grass layers, leafy trees, shallow rivers and darker stone and orange-block areas below the water line. Blocky humanoid figures also appear in the open, including one with a green face. Press Enter to bring up the menu and its options screen, where you can also turn off the intro notice that appears at the top of the screen.
The build is labelled a beta: the notice states that saving applies to small, normal and medium worlds, and that crafting is planned for later versions rather than finished now.
Tips
- Aim the centre dot directly at the block face you want before clicking — the crosshair, not the sword, decides what you hit.
- Dig into a hillside rather than building upward from flat ground; the layered grass and stone give you a ready-made wall on three sides.
- Open the menu with Enter and use the options screen to switch off the on-screen notice, which otherwise covers the top-left of your view.
- Treat the world as a work in progress: the game tells you it is a beta, so keep expectations for saving to the small, normal and medium world sizes it mentions.
