How to Play Super Cario World
You control a small hero in overalls, moving him across grassy ground with brick and gold blocks floating overhead. The arrow keys move you left and right, and the space bar jumps, so most of the game is timing hops between platforms and around obstacles while pushing toward the end of the stage.
Monsters roam the same ground and platforms you do — mushroom-capped creatures and grumpy brown enemies appear in the frames — and the goal is to defeat them along the route rather than let them block your path. Gold coins sit in rows in the air and in open ground; picking them up earns rewards, and the counter at the top right ticks up as you grab them.
The top of the screen also shows three hearts and a number beside a clock icon that counts down as you play. A magic potion grants extra power when you drink it. Clear the stages, take on the dragon at the end and the princess is free.
Tips
- Watch the countdown beside the clock at the top of the screen — dawdling on a tricky platform section can cost you the run.
- Coins often sit in floating rows above the ground, so line up your jump before you reach them instead of trying to steer mid-air.
- Grab the magic potion when you see it; the extra power it gives is worth the detour.
- You only have three hearts, so learn where monsters patrol before charging through a crowded platform.
