How to Play Poppy Playtime Chapter 3
You move in first person with WASD and steer the camera with the mouse. The mansion is almost pitch black — wooden floorboards, panelled walls and heavy furniture only appear when your light sweeps across them, so progress means slowly scanning each corner instead of running through.
Look for the small blue dot that marks an object you can use. Line it up on a wardrobe handle, a desk drawer or a doorknob and press F. Drawers slide open, cupboard doors swing wide, and any key inside becomes yours. A padlock icon next to a keyhole means that door stays shut until you are holding the right key, so you search the room furniture first and come back.
The game is split into two chapters, each with its own map and objectives, so once a set of doors is cleared you move on to a new layout of rooms to unlock. ESC brings up the menu at any point.
Tips
- Sweep your light along walls at waist height — drawer handles and keyholes only show their blue interaction dot when the beam reaches them.
- Open every drawer and cupboard in a room before trying its exits; keys are hidden inside furniture, not lying on the floor.
- A padlock symbol beside a keyhole means you are missing that key — note the door and keep searching rather than wasting time on it.
- Move slowly in dark corridors. The light cone is narrow, and walking fast makes it easy to miss a whole dresser or side door.
