How to Play Top Down Truck Racing
Drive with WASD. The truck accelerates up the straights — the dial on the right shows speed climbing past 080 — and the weight of the rig shows in every corner, where it leans, kicks up smoke and drifts wide toward the red-and-white kerbs.
The HUD tracks four things at once: elapsed time, your running total, your best lap and the lap counter, which starts at 1/3. Alongside it sits the position board listing you as Player and the three bots below, so you can see who is ahead. Numbers also flash near the top of the screen during a run, with a multiplier beside them.
Leaving the road costs you. In the frames the truck slides off into the grass and trees beside the track and has to fight its way back onto the tarmac, which bleeds time. Finish all three laps to complete the race, then try again for a faster lap.
Tips
- Brake before the long sweeping bends — the rig carries a lot of momentum and will run wide onto the kerbs at full speed.
- Watch the speed dial rather than the road only; dropping from 080 to around 035 through a tight corner keeps you on the tarmac.
- Grass and trees off the edge of the track slow you badly, so recover onto the road at the nearest point instead of cutting through scenery.
- Use the best-lap readout as your target — you get three laps, so treat the first as a learning run and push on laps two and three.
- Keep an eye on the position list to see whether a bot has slipped past while you were recovering.
