How to Play Nitro Rally
Pick a track from the menu with the mouse and the race starts straight away. Your car pulls away by itself — you only turn left and right and tap the brake, which makes reading the corner ahead the real skill. The lap counter in the top-left corner shows L/3, and a timer runs at the top of the screen so every run is measured against the clock.
The circuits mix surfaces and scenery: loose brown dirt sections lined with rocks, stacked tyres and metal barriers, then smoother grey asphalt stretches with painted centre lines, plus water and sand patches on the edges. Rival cars appear on the road too, so you weave around them while holding your line. A dial in the corner shows your speed as you go.
Finish the three laps, then go back for a better lap time or to try one of the other circuits. Turbo is available for an extra burst of speed when you want to push a lap.
Tips
- Watch the road ahead rather than your car — with automatic acceleration, you need to start turning before the corner arrives.
- Use the brake on the tight hairpins seen on the dirt sections; the fast sweeping asphalt curves can often be taken with steering alone.
- Keep an eye on the lap counter (L/3) and the timer so you know when you're on your final lap and can push for a better time.
- Give rival cars room as you pass them so you don't get knocked off your line mid-corner.
- Learn one circuit properly before moving on — knowing where the hairpins come lets you shave seconds off your lap time.
