How to Play Subway Surf 2
Your character runs forward on their own, so your job is steering. Slide left and right across the road with the mouse or the arrow keys to line up with the gold coins hovering in the lanes and to slip past the obstacles rushing toward you — the runner has to avoid smashing into railway cars, and the frames also show long green buses and roadside fountains blocking parts of the route.
Two extras appear during a run. A double press activates the hoverboard, which the runner rides while still weaving between lanes. Grabbing the rocket icon and pressing its button launches you upward in a trail of flame, sending you flying above the shopfronts for a stretch before you drop back onto the road.
At the top right the HUD keeps a coin tally and a score number that climbs as you run, and the scenery shifts as you go — glass-fronted city blocks give way to a desert canyon with palm trees. Keep going as long as you can and push the numbers higher on the next attempt.

- Watch the far end of the road, not your feet — buses and rail cars fill the lanes with little warning at full speed.
- Coins sit in specific lanes, so plan your sideways move to sweep through a line of them instead of jumping lane to lane at random.
- Save the rocket for a moment when the road ahead looks crowded; while you are airborne you pass over obstacles on the ground.
- The hoverboard still needs steering — keep reading the lanes after you double press to bring it out.
- Scenery changes, like the desert canyon section, come with different obstacle layouts, so do not rely on memorised patterns from the city stretch.
