Each run starts with the hook dropping from the dock at the surface. You steer the line sideways while it descends, lining the hook up with the small fish drifting past. A counter at the bottom of the screen tracks your progress against the run's target — early runs ask for 50, later ones for 100 — while the coin total sits at the top left next to the sound button.
Your line only reaches so far before the run ends, so the loop is descend, collect, cash in, upgrade. In the shop you spend coins on line distance, on shooting power (the pistol is free, then rifle, shotgun, autogun and sniper), on booster marks that speed the line up, and on extras like a lamp light and an electro shock.
