How to Play Fishing Life
Choose a target fish and cast your line. Once something bites, a bar appears showing the fish's AP — the frames show a goldfish at 180.0/180.0 — along with a countdown warning how many seconds you have before the fish unhooks. Clicking the water chips that AP down; in the second and third frames the number is falling and the scene bursts into streaks and bubbles as the reeling speeds up.
Land the fish and you collect money, shown as a small popup such as "Money +5". That cash pays for upgrades: strength for stronger taps, skins that boost tap power, outfits that add damage, and a keepnet that raises the price your fish fetch. Assistants can be hired to lift income, strength, damage and price, and chests plus charged drift bottles hand out extra cash.
Challenges pit you against a specific fish in a VS screen; winning one adds that species to the pool you can catch in the pond. A rank badge (Bronze in the first frame) sits at the top of the screen next to your money counter, with shop, challenge and pond buttons along the bottom.
Tips
- Put your first money into Strength — harder taps drain AP faster, which is the only way to beat the unhook countdown on bigger fish.
- Watch the unhook timer, not just the AP bar. If a fish is barely dented halfway through, your tap power is behind and it is time to upgrade.
- Buy skins and outfits for the tap-strength and damage boosts, and the keepnet when you want each catch to sell for more.
- Take on challenges when you can win them — a successful challenge unlocks a new fish for the pond.
- Collect chests and charged drift bottles whenever they appear; chests can hand you assistants that raise income, strength, damage or price.
