How to Play Battleships Armada

The match opens on the "Deploy Your Ship" screen. A row of ship silhouettes sits along the bottom, each with the number of times it appears, and crosshair lines help you line a hull up with the glowing blue squares. Drop each vessel — from the long five-cell warship down to the short two-cell boat — anywhere on the 10x10 grid, or hit the AUTO button to let the game scatter them for you. Confirm with the check mark when the fleet is set.

Then the board flips to the enemy's waters and the "Your Turn" banner appears. Pick a cell and a missile falls: a miss splashes into open water, while a hit throws up a dark plume of smoke and marks the square with a red cross. You get three missiles per turn before the computer fires back at your grid. Whoever sinks the opponent's last ship takes the win.

Tips

  1. Spread your ships out instead of clustering them — a stray hit near one hull won't lead the computer straight to the next.
  2. When a missile connects, spend your remaining shots in the cells directly around the red cross to find which way the hull runs.
  3. The five-cell warship is the easiest target to stumble onto, so consider tucking it along an edge.
  4. Use AUTO if you just want a quick round, but hand-placing lets you avoid the obvious middle of the board.
  5. Remember you get three missiles a turn — after a confirmed hit, finish the ship before guessing elsewhere.
