Battles play out in a 2D side view. A wheat counter and a population counter (shown as a fraction, such as 3/5) sit at the top of the screen, and your available units line the bottom bar with the wheat cost of each. You spend wheat to summon soldiers, and the population cap limits how many you can have on the field at once.

The early era uses prehistoric fighters — club-swinging cavemen, spear carriers and riders mounted on beasts like hyenas and a white bear. Units and enemies carry health bars above them, and damage numbers pop up as blows land. Defeating enemies earns coins and rewards.

Between fights, use the Building and Enhance options to spend what you have earned on upgrades such as attack, defence and maximum population, and to unlock soldier teams from later eras including Egyptian and Roman troops. You can pick levels mode or battle mode, and choose which soldiers to bring into each fight.

Tips

1. Watch the population fraction at the top; when it is full you cannot add more soldiers until a slot frees up, so plan upgrades to raise the cap.
2. Check the wheat cost printed under each unit in the bottom bar before committing to a summon.
3. Spend rewards from won battles on the Enhance menu — attack, defence and maximum population all carry into later fights.
4. Each era's soldiers have their own skill set, so try different line-ups when a level's enemies give you trouble.
