How to Play Super Onion Boy
Pick a direction and keep moving. The core loop is classic side-scrolling platforming: run left and right, jump across gaps and over obstacles, and land on top of enemies to defeat them. When a power is available you can fire it instead of jumping on a foe.
Along the route there are items to grab — coins, life force pickups and stars. Stars matter for your score, so the more you collect, the better you finish a level. Fifteen levels stand between you and the monster holding the princess in a magic bubble, ending with a boss fight.
Because scoring depends on what you pick up as well as reaching the exit, the game is built for playing through again to do better than your last attempt. Press P at any time to pause or open the menu.
Tips
- Line up your fall so you land squarely on an enemy's head — a stomp takes them out without using a power.
- Go out of your way for stars: they are what raise your final score, while coins and life force are separate pickups.
- Save your power shot for enemies or obstacles you cannot safely jump on.
- Use P to pause when a jump sequence looks tricky and plan your route before committing.
