How to Play HEX-A-MONG

You control a small capsule-shaped character on a floor made entirely of hexagonal panels. Step on one and it lights up, then disappears shortly after, leaving a hole to the floor below. The crowd of other characters is doing the same thing, so the surface breaks apart quickly and the safe area keeps shrinking.

Movement is the whole game: run across fresh tiles, jump gaps where the floor has already gone, and read ahead so you are never boxed in on a patch that is about to vanish. Falling through drops you to the next floor — you can survive two falls, but the third one ends your run.

The frames show a floor counter in the top-right corner tracking your progress through the arena, with the platform curving away into a starfield. A second player can join on the same keyboard and share the collapsing floor with you.

Tips

  1. Never stop. Slowing down leaves you standing on a panel that is already counting down to disappear.
  2. Plan two or three tiles ahead — look for untouched hexes rather than following the lit trail other characters have burned through.
  3. Use jumps to cross holes instead of taking long detours around the broken edge of the floor.
  4. Drift toward the outer rim when the middle is collapsing, but watch the boundary wall so you don't corner yourself.
  5. Treat your first two falls as spare lives, not mistakes to panic over — land, get moving again immediately on the lower floor.
