How to Play Eat The Fish IO

You start small — the HUD shows your size number floating under your fish, a kill counter at the top left and a countdown clock for the round. Steer with the left on-screen stick and line yourself up on other fish. Your blade only works from the right angle: come in from the side or from behind, and avoid swimming nose-first into a bigger player who will do the same to you.

Feeding on other fish builds you up. Your size number climbs with each kill, your "Fish state" ticks up as you grow, and a POWER UP notice appears when you reach a new stage. The bar at the top is your boost meter, spent by holding the right-hand button for a burst of speed; eating fish restores it, so kills and chases feed each other.

The leaderboard on the right tracks the top five by eliminations. Grab the crown, then stay alive — a WARNING banner flashes when trouble is closing in on you.

Play with a mouse or one finger on a phone in landscape.

Tips

  1. Never charge head-on. Circle around and hit rivals from behind or along the flank where your blade lands and theirs doesn't.
  2. Save boost for the last stretch of a chase or for escaping a bigger fish — the meter only refills by eating.
  3. Hunt the small fish first. Each meal raises your size number and your fish state, which makes later fights fairer.
  4. Watch the leaderboard: if a player is far ahead on kills, assume they are big and give them room.
  5. When the WARNING banner appears, break off your attack and swim away rather than finishing the meal.
