How to Play Alex Whiskers
You control Alex from behind, with the camera trailing just over his shoulders. The counter in the top-left tracks how many fish you have picked up and how many the area holds — the frames show a five-fish goal and a seven-fish goal, so the quota changes as you progress. Fish float in the open, sometimes in loose rows across the grass, so sweeping the area beats running in a straight line.
Movement is on the arrow keys or WASD, and the mouse swings the view left and right so you can scan behind walls, trees and crates. Spacebar jumps; on-screen prompts appear when you need it, such as when you're stood on a wooden crate. Springs bounce you higher than a normal jump.
The town isn't safe. Cars speed along the roads and bulldogs will chase you down, so you need quick reactions to keep moving and finish the collection.
Tips
- Swing the camera with the mouse before you sprint off — fish often sit behind trees or along the brick walls, out of the default view.
- Use crates and springs as launch pads; the spacebar prompt appears when a jump is the way forward.
- Keep moving when a bulldog spots you rather than turning to face it.
- Watch the counter instead of guessing: if it reads 4 / 5, one fish is still hidden somewhere in the area.
- Cross roads only when the lane is clear — cars move fast.
