You explore the house from a first-person view, pistol held low in front of you, with a health readout in the bottom-left corner and an ammo counter in the bottom-right. The house is a maze of wood-panelled corridors, cracked plaster walls, stacked crates and furniture, lit just well enough to see the next doorway.
A hand cursor appears on the screen when you are looking at something you can interact with — in the frames it shows up on a doorknob and on a small red item sitting under a table. Press F to pick things up, and keep working through the rooms until you have all 8 pieces of the picture that exposes the truth about Slendrina.
Shooting matters too. Left click fires, right click aims down the sights, and R reloads before your ammo count runs dry. Beyond the pistol you can switch to a shotgun or a melee DeathSword with the mouse wheel, and grenades are on G. Sprint, crouch, prone and jump all help when she closes in.
