Shell Shockers has passed 200 million lifetime players, and the idea that hooked them hasn't changed. It's a fast online shooter in which everyone is an egg, and one good burst of fire leaves a puddle of yolk on the floor.

How to Play Shell Shockers

Every match puts you in an arena with other eggs, and the goal is simple: shoot them before they shoot you. A few clean hits are enough to break a shell, so accuracy and movement count for more than anything else.

When your egg cracks, you are back in the fight a few seconds later, but the streak counter in the corner of the screen drops back to zero. Staying alive between eliminations is what builds a big streak. You can respawn as often as you like, which makes it easy to play for a few minutes or a whole evening.

Game Modes

Free For All

Every egg for itself. Crack as many opponents as you can, avoid getting cracked, and climb the scoreboard.

Teams

Join the red or the blue team. Your eliminations count toward a shared team score, so sticking together and covering each other wins more games than going solo.

Captula the Spatula

Two teams fight over a single spatula. Whoever grabs it becomes everyone's target. Their teammates have to protect them while the other side tries to crack the carrier and take the spatula back.

King of the Coop

Two teams battle to capture and hold one area of the map, the coop. Stand inside it to take control and keep the other team from pushing you out.

Weapons

Before you spawn, you choose your main weapon. Each one suits a different style of play:

• EggK-47 — the classic rifle: a high rate of fire at medium range, and it never jams
• Scrambler — a shotgun that does critical damage up close
• Free Ranger — a semi-automatic sniper rifle for picking eggs off from a distance
• RPEGG — a rocket launcher with a small magazine and big damage at medium distance
• Whipper — a large magazine of rapid fire for close to medium range
• Crackshot — a bolt-action sniper rifle that can crack an egg in one shot
• Tri-Hard — an accurate three-round burst rifle built for medium range

Every egg also carries grenades (Q) and a melee attack (F) for when an opponent gets too close.

Eggs and Customization

Cracking other players earns Eggs, the in-game currency, which you spend on hats, weapon skins and other items that make your egg stand out. Some items can also be bought with real money, but they are cosmetic and don't make your egg any stronger.

Tips

1. Keep moving. An egg standing still in the open is an easy target, so strafe with A and D while you shoot.
2. Pick your weapon for the map. The Crackshot and Free Ranger reward long sightlines, while the Scrambler and Whipper shine in tight corners.
3. Hold Shift to aim before a long-range shot instead of firing from the hip.
4. Reload during quiet moments, not in the middle of a fight.
5. Throw a grenade to flush eggs out from behind cover.
6. In team modes, stay close to your teammates, especially around the spatula or the coop.
