How to Play Dead Zone Sniper
You start each level perched above the site with a bolt-action sniper rifle, a health value and a magazine count shown in the corners of the screen — nine rounds loaded from a reserve of fifty in the frames above. A clock at the top counts down, so the level is a race as much as a shooting test.
Walk with WASD to change your firing angle along the rooftop, then hold the right mouse button to raise the rifle and look through the scope. The scope has a ranging reticle with marked stadia lines, so you can line up soldiers standing on distant girders, walkways and concrete slabs. Click to fire, then press R to reload before you get caught with an empty magazine.
Clear every hazmat soldier in the area while your own health holds up. Survive the round inside the time limit and you progress to the next level; P pauses if you need a break.
Tips
- Hold right mouse to scope in before you shoot — the reticle's marked lines help you judge distant targets across the yard.
- Reload with R after a burst of shots; the rifle only holds a small magazine from your reserve, and an empty gun wastes seconds off the clock.
- Watch the countdown at the top of the screen. Hunting for the last hazmat soldier is what usually costs you the level.
- Step along the rooftop with WASD to open new sightlines — pipes, walls and railings block a lot of the shots you'd otherwise have.
- Check your health readout after taking fire; the soldiers below can hit back, so break the scope view and reposition.
