How to Play Deeeep.io

Start as a Tier 1 animal and evolve by gaining XP from eating food or other animals. Attack other animals by continuously bumping into them until they die. Note that animals of the same type cannot attack each other! Once you’re eligible for an upgrade, an option to evolve will appear at the top of your screen, showing available next-tier animals you can evolve into.

Animals

There are over 100 animals in Deeeep.io! With 10 tier levels to reach, you usually begin a game as a Tier 1 animal. There are six Tier 1 animals to choose from:

Clownfish: swims faster near other clownfish and hides in anemones.Habitat: warm, salt, shallow water

Icefish: recovers health faster when still.Habitat: cold, salt, shallow water

Blobfish: needs high pressure and hides in volcanoes.Habitat: warm/cold, salt, deep water

Worm: digs through land quickly.Habitat: warm/cold, salt/fresh, deep/shallow water

Blind Cavefish: limited vision and senses vibrations.Habitat: warm/cold, fresh, deep/shallow water

Piranha: multiplies upon leveling up and boosts for speed or instant piranha habitat regainHabitat: warm/cold, fresh, shallow water

As soon as you gain enough XP, you can then upgrade to a next-tier animal, indicated at the top of your screen, along with their stats and suitable habitats. Certain animals have special qualities, which will be shown as soon as you choose that animal.

Habitat

Habitats in Deeeep.io are categorized into three flair:

Temperature: Cold, WarmPressure: Shallow, DeepSalinity: Fresh, Salt

Use the map to get a good look of where you are and which area is a good habitat for your animal to thrive in. If in an unsuitable habitat, your status bar will decrease and show you which flair is not suitable, giving you a hint on which area to transfer to quickly before your health fully runs out.

Game Modes

Free-For-All (FFA)FFA is the main game mode, where the goal is to simply evolve into the highest-tier animal in the main map with all the other players.

Pearl Defense (PD)Team up with other players to capture the enemy team’s pearl and return it to your base. Be sure to evolve into a bulky animal first and capture the pearl together with other players as it is guarded by dangerous animals like remoras.

1v1Choose from Tier 10 animals and fight another player in a small area. If players stall, toxic algae will form in the area, forcing them to fight.

Team Free-For-All (TFFA)Similar to FFA, except you can join teams or “swarms”. Join a swarm or create one by pressing “T”.

Tips, Tricks & Strategies

Start Small

Start small and focus first on eating food in order to evolve into a higher-tier animal. Avoid larger predators initially. Once your tier is high enough, that’s when you can attack and eat larger animals to gain more XP.

Eat Your Food

Different foods provide different XP levels and have specific spawn locations, so explore around! Note that some food is animal-specific. Available foods include planktons, coconuts, apples, bird poop, and even humans!

Hide in Places

There are many various hiding places scattered in the area that you can hide in or climb onto to protect yourself from other animals. Hiding abilities depend on your animal type and tier!

Use Your Boost

Boost to speed up movement, especially if you’re escaping or chasing animals. The boost bar at the bottom of your screen indicates charge level. Click for a normal boost and hold for a charged boost.
