How to Play Sumo Smash!
You steer your wrestler with a small on-screen stick and roam the hexagonal arena. Sushi pieces sit scattered across the tiles — collect them to grow your sumo bigger, and a floating score pops up as you do. The bigger you get, the more weight you throw around when you body-check a rival.
Contact is the whole game: run into other sumos and shove them toward the water. The platform itself is not safe ground either. Tiles drop away over the course of a match, opening gaps of blue water in the middle of the arena, so the space you can fight on keeps shrinking and edges appear where there were none.
Beach umbrellas and treasure chests sit around the tiles. Chests unlock cosmetic skins for your wrestler, so opening them while dodging opponents is worth the detour.
Tips
- Eat sushi early — a bigger sumo pushes harder in collisions.
- Watch which hex tiles have dropped away; a gap behind an opponent is a free knockout.
- Fight near the outer rim only when you have the size advantage, otherwise you are the one going in the water.
- Grab treasure chests when the nearest rivals are busy with each other, not while someone is charging you.
