How to Play Shadowgun War Game

You see the world from a first-person view, with your gloved hands and a purple-finished pistol filling the lower part of the screen. WASD or the arrow keys walk you forward, back and sideways across the paved battlefield. Buttons in the interface, including the pause control in the top-left corner, are clicked with the mouse.

The HUD keeps you informed while you fight. A red HP bar sits along the bottom edge, a compass rose in the top-right shows which way you are facing, and a timer readout is pinned to the top of the screen. A counter beside a magazine icon in the top-left corner changes as you play. Enemy fighters in camouflage appear out in the open and around the buildings, so crates, container stacks and brick walls are the cover you have between shots.

The setting is a modern city battlefield built for mission-based combat, with each stage testing how well you shoot and how fast you react.

Tips

  1. Keep an eye on the red HP bar at the bottom — it is your only warning that a firefight is going badly.
  2. Use the crates, containers and brick walls scattered across the yard as cover instead of crossing the open pavement in a straight line.
  3. Check the compass in the top-right when you turn around; the wide, similar-looking arena is easy to get lost in.
  4. Watch the counter next to the magazine icon in the top-left so you are not caught out mid-fight.
